Renault have a long history in Formula 1 both as a competitor and as an engine supplier, but 2025 marks the end of an era of the latter part of their operation. From 2026, the Alpine squad will no longer be a works team and instead will race with power units supplied by Mercedes.
There has also been change on the driver front with Jack Doohan replacing Esteban Ocon to partner Pierre Gasly for the start of 2025. However, there could be more upheaval on the horizon after the signing of Franco Colapinto as a reserve, with the Argentine expecting a race seat swiftly and Doohan already under immense pressure.
Oliver Oakes is the team principal but the man with all the power is Flavio Briatore, brought back into the fold as a special adviser to Alpine and to Renault chief executive Luca de Meo.
