Victoria Beckham insists she's a 'girl's girl' amid feud with Brooklyn and Nicola
Victoria Beckham has claimed that she is a "girl's girl" and it is rare for her to not get along with other women, as her and David's feud with their son Brooklyn and his wife rumbles on
Victoria Beckham has reminded fans that her girl power attitude is alive and well, saying she has always been a “girl's girl” who gets on with almost everyone unless they give her a real reason not to.
The fashion designer and former Spice Girl, 51, appeared on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM radio show this week, where she opened up about her relationships with other women, particularly during her WAG (wives and girlfriends of footballers) era while husband David Beckham played for England.
When asked if she got along with the other footballers' partners at the time, Victoria replied: “I did. I'm a girl's girl. I mean you've got to be a real a*****e for me to not get on with you if you're a woman.”
She went on to explain that her love for empowering women is at the heart of her work in fashion and beauty. She added: “Because I love, I love women, you know, and that's part of the reason why I do what I do with fashion and beauty. I want to empower women. Yes. And I want to share my tips and tricks with women.”
Her comments come amid ongoing rumours of a family rift involving her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz.
Reports suggest tensions between Nicola and the Beckham clan have been boiling over for months, and Brooklyn and Nicola have been notably absent from several key family events, including David's 50th birthday celebrations and Victoria's Paris Fashion Week show.
Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola also skipped the premiere of Beckham, Victoria's hit Netflix documentary, and have remained silent on social media about the project.
However, Victoria and David appeared to extend an olive branch recently when they both liked one of Brooklyn's Instagram videos, where he showed off his cooking skills by making buttermilk pancakes.
Despite the public show of support, Brooklyn's absence at family milestones has reportedly been difficult for his parents. A source recently told HELLO! : “From the minute Nicola came into the family, she hasn't shown what Victoria would say is respect towards them.”
However, another insider claimed David is determined to fix things, saying: “David has reached out already and will fly out to see Brooklyn if necessary. They are going to put this fire out. David has said that he wants the dust to settle and for everyone to talk when emotions have settled down.”
The source added: “Brooklyn's hurt them. It hurts them that he's aired their dirty laundry, but David will not let this continue for much longer. He wants to put everyone in a room together – they need to iron this out now or nothing is going to change.”
