Tess Daly supported by lookalike daughter as 'real reason' for Strictly exit revealed
Tess Daly beams with pride as her 21-year-old lookalike daughter Phoebe supports her on set as real reason behind shock Strictly Come Dancing exit is finally revealed
Standing side by side her 21 year old daughter, Tess Daly and her stunning daughter Phoebe could quite easily pass as sisters. Taking to social media, Tess appeared to be beaming with pride as Phoebe visited her on the Strictly Come Dancing set.
She shared the sweet moment with her Instagram followers as she penned: "Such a treat having you at the show last night @phoebeekay can’t believe you’ve been coming for 21 years; your entire life."
Wearing a dark coloured velvet dress, Tess, 56, looked every inch a star as she smiled for the cameras. Meanwhile, Phoebe has clearly taken on her mother's elegant style as she wore a fitted purple sequined dress.
And it didn't take long before the comment section of her post was inundated with praise. One person wrote: "Wow! The girls don’t know life without Strictly. Can’t wait to see you both on the 15th. Xx." Another said: "Wow she's your double."
A third person added: "2 peas in a pod absolutely stunning." "You are like two peas in a pod. Beautiful peas too …. How old were you the first time you saw the show live @phoebeekay?, " a fourth penned.
Tess along with her Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman recently caused a huge media storm when they announced their departure from the BBC show.
Their announcement came just after Tess' husband Vernon Kay revealed that he never misses an episode of the ballroom dance show, as he needs to make sure his wife of 22 years was OK.
Eight weeks ago, the BBC Radio 2 host said: "I rarely go out when Strictly’s on because I want to make sure everything’s alright. If I’m working, I have it on at the side of the stage."
But sourced explained to the Mirror that her reason to quit the show was to spend more quality time with her family. The couple share two daughters together, Phoebe, 21 and Amber, 16.
A source exclusively told us: "Strictly is a real whirlwind – it is chaotic and they don’t have much time together. Vernon has been understanding and knows this. "
They added: "Tess has been on Strictly forever but it’s been heartbreaking for her not to have as much time as she’s want with her family – it’s the juggle so many women have."
The insider continued: "They’re seeing her taking time away from work briefly as their fresh start – a chance for her and Vernon to have some space for their relationship. Once Strictly has stopped, she can have so much more family time, more holidays, more special time with the kids and for work opportunities. It’s going to be very positive for them as a couple."
