EXCLUSIVE: Peter Andre 'wakes up sweating knowing something's wrong' amid terrifying discovery

Popstar Peter Andre recalls the moment he woke up in a panic thinking 'something' wrong', before discovering a shocking event that almost cost someone their life

Popstar Peter Andre has described the "paranormal" moment he woke up in the middle of the night convinced that "something was wrong", in what turned out to be a cross-Ocean sort of premonition. In his weekly new! column, the Mysterious Girl singer was discussing Charlotte Church's new passion for witchcraft when he described his own spooky experience.

"Back in the 90s, I woke up at 2am, sweating and feeling ill," he wrote. "Every part of me knew something was wrong. I told my brother Chris we needed to call home to Australia immediately. We found out my brother Andrew had been involved in a serious car accident just at that time. I can’t explain that – 12,000 miles away."

Peter, 52, also commented on Celebrity Traitor star Charlotte's new passion for practising witchcraft, adding that after his own experience, he'd "never knock anyone for their belief in things we can’t always explain away".

"There’s no doubt Charlotte Church is an incredible singer," he added. "Now I’ve learned she’s also into witchcraft! That’s the thing with many people – they can have many strings to their bow. I love a free spirit. On the subject of the paranormal, I’ve experienced an event in my life I can’t explain."

After a stellar career as a singer, 39-year-old Charlotte now runs her own wellness retreat centre in Wales, where guests can enjoy experiences such as forest baths, breathwork classes and sound healing sessions in the stunning countryside.

She recently added a five-day witchcraft retreat to the list of offerings, which will led by herself and "High Priestess and author Tree Carr", and will give 17 guests the chance to "embody their magic through ritual, nature, and deep witchcraft practises during the Waning Gibbous Moon phase."

According to The Dreaming's website, it also provides "the perfect setting for witches to reconnect with the old ways" and guests will be encouraged to participate in "chanting at dawn" and "humming at dusk".

Charlotte first shot to fame in 1997 aged 11, and was dubbed the 'voice of an angel' after performing Andrew Lloyd Webber's Pie Jesu down the phone on a segment on This Morning. She then went on to have a hugely successful classical music career, before moving into the pop music arena, with hits including Call My Name and Crazy Chick, which landed at number 10 and number 2 in the charts respectively.

She now lives in Dinas Powys, Wales, with her husband Jonathan Powell, who worked in the music industry when they met, along with their daughter Frida Simone, born in 2020, and Charlotte's two older children, Ruby and Dexter, from her relationship with rugby player Gavin Henson.
