Jonathan Ross cancels iconic Halloween party after decades of holding A-list bash
After the number of Faithfuls to go home reached double digits, Jonathan Ross was the first Traitor to be banished from the Celebrity Traitors castle
Jonathan Ross' iconic Halloween parties have been cancelled following his stint on the Celebrity Traitors. After being the first Traitor to be caught, Jonathan revealed that none of his castmates would be headed to his Halloween bash as he isn't throwing one this year.
The TV personality's hotly-anticipated Halloween parties have been the event to attend for years. The annual get-together would happen at his Hampstead home and always be filled with a host of celebrities.
But this year, it won't be happening. Jonathan revealed to Ed Gamble on a bonus podcast episode of The Traitors: Uncloaked that he has cancelled his Halloween parties.
On the episode, Jonathan was asked who he had become friends with on the show. He reeled off a list of names, including Joe Marler. Jonathan said: "Joe Marler - I met him a couple times and had him on my show a couple times and he was invited to my parties on Halloween, when I was still doing them."
Jonathan continued to list off more names and talk about almost everyone in the cast. When he had finished, Ed said: "The main thing I took from that, Jonathan, is that your not doing your Halloween parties anymore."
"No, I'm afraid not," Jonathan responded. "I might do another one before I go, but they cost a fortune." Ed joked that he was hoping this podcast would lead to him getting an invitation.
Jonathan then said this was part of the problem. "Not you, but part of the problem was that, because we became such a well-known event, every time I did something people would be like, 'Are you doing a Halloween party?'"
Those people would ask to come and Jonathan would say yes. "Of the adults I invited. I only genuinely knew 30% of them. And the others, I liked them all, but I didn't know them," he concluded.
This isn't the first time Jonathan has called off the festivities. They were also cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic and only made a comeback in 2022, where it was instead hosted at KOKO in Camden rather than his house, as his daughter was dealing with fibromyalgia.
But in 2023, the party returned to his house. However, the emphasis changed from celeb guest to everyday trick or treaters. Rather than the usual A-lister, children were photographed outside Jonathan's house, preparing to knock on the door for some sweets.
Before the change, celebrities like Claudia Schiffer, Nicole Scherzinger and fellow Traitor Alan Carr would attend the party. Alan is still on The Celebrity Traitors and has become a firm fan favourite.
He and Cat Burns are the only two Traitors left and are gearing up to 'murder' a faithful in plain sight. If they succeed, it will be the second murder in plain sight to happen on the show, as Alan already killed off Paloma Faith that way.
