Disgraced Sean 'Diddy' Combs 'working in laundry room' US in prison
Shamed star Sean 'Diddy' Combs has landed himself a job in the laundry room of the new prison he was relocated to in New Jersey and is responsible for washing and drying inmates clothes
Sean 'Diddy' Combs appears to be settling into prison life with apparent ease as he has now landed himself a job working in the laundry room. The shamed rapper, 55, who was sentenced to more than four years for transportation to engage in prostitution, is now responsible for washing and drying of dirty clothes from his fellow inmates.
This is a far cry from the former multi-millionaire who commanded the respect from the world over due to his global music empire.
Sean was transferred to the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Fort Dix, New Jersey, earlier this week, where he is expected to carry out the rest of his 50-month jail sentence.
According US media outlet TMZ prosecutors claimed that he was so used to having employees carry out daily basic tasks for him including charging his phone, his new job will come as a shock to say the least.
FCI Fort Dix is a low security facility and said to have better conditions than MDC Brooklyn, where Sean had been behind bars since his arrest on various sex crime charges in September last year.
His legal team had requested he be moved to the facility in New Jersey because of its access to drug rehabilitation schemes.
At the time, his lawyer Teny Geragos has written in court filing: "In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the court strongly recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix."
The Bad Boy Records founder had complained about the conditions in MDC and earlier this month.
Close pal Charlucci Finney claimed the former star had suffered a terrifying incident at the prison when he woke up "with a knife to his throat".
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Charlucci said: "He woke up with a knife to his throat. I don’t know whether he fought him off or the guards came, I just know that it happened."
But he believes that the alleged attack was an attempt to scare him into submission rather than physically harm him. He continued: "If this guy had wanted to harm him, Sean would have been harmed. It would only take a second to cut his throat with a weapon and kill him. It was probably a way to say, ‘Next time you ain’t gonna be so lucky.’ Everything is intimidation. But with Sean it won’t work. Sean is from Harlem."
Charlucci, who works as a music producer, has expressed his fears for his close pal as he worries that due to his fame, he will have a target on his back among his fellow inmates. In the same interview, Charlucci admitted that Sean has remained tight-lipped when it comes to his daily struggles as he doesn't waqnt to worry his family.
But due to his convictions, according to the pal, anything related to sex crimes is a worry. He claimed that prisoners take that sort of crime "personal" as they see it as it could have been a member of their family that was coerced into doing crimes.
In the world of prison it is known as "prison justice." He concluded: "And you have to understand, we are not talking about a regular person. We're talking about Diddy."
