Dakota Johnson breaks cover after ex Chris Martin and Sophie Turner romance rumbled

Actress Dakota Johnson put on a brave face as she attended Vogue World just after her Coldplay singer ex Chris Martin's new romance with Sophie Turner was revealed

Dakota Johnson looked stunning as she made her first public appearance since news of her ex Chris Martin's new romance. The actress, 36, wowed in a floor-length gown as she attended Vogue World 2025 in Los Angeles just months after she was left in "incredible pain" following the split.

She wore a dusty pink flowy dress with shimmering silver bodice and black mesh neckline. Dakota kept her long dark hair straight as it fell across her shoulder while she held onto a black clutch bag.

Her appearance at the star-studded event comes after her Coldplay frontman ex Chris appears to be getting close to Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, 29. Sophie is thought to have split from her aristocrat boyfriend, Peregrine ‘Perry’ Pearson, last month while Chris, 48, called it a day with Dakota back in June after eight years.

Chris and Sophie reportedly went on a date just a week after the actress was seen arguing between passionately kissing Peregrine at a wedding in late September. The singer has been spending time in London over the summer after Coldplay had a string of dates scheduled at Wembley Stadium for their Music Of The Spheres tour.

Chris and Dakota began dating in 2017 after his 2015 divorce from Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow, who he shares two children with, Apple, 21, and Moses, 19. However, despite getting engaged the pair officially split in June.

At the time a source told the Daily Mail: "Their relationship has been over for a long time, they just haven't been able to figure out to make it official. Dakota held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much."

The insider continued: "Breakups aren't instant and they continued to breakup and makeup and sometimes things would work when they were away from each other, while they were working."

A source added to The Sun: "The decision to end things was amicable, but Dakota is finding it hard. Over the past year, it became clear that their relationship had stalled and wasn't moving forwards."

Sophie has recently returned to the UK following her divorce from Joe Jonas. They married in 2019 and share two daughters Willa, four, and Delphine, two.

The pair finalised their divorce in September 2024, just over a year after Joe filed the paperwork. A source has revealed to the Mirror that Sophie and Chris aren't looking for a "serious" commitment but are a perfect match.

“Sophie was a party girl before her relationship with Joe Jonas”, the source close to Sophie told us. “And Chris could actually be the perfect guy for her right now, as both are at a point in their lives where they’re looking for something fun and non-committal."

“Sophie was totally fed up with America and all the bull*** there after her divorce. She really had a downer on LA and politics there”, our source claimed. “Now Chris, too, no longer has any full-time ties to keep him constantly in LA.”

Amid the romance rumours, a video from 2020 has reappeared, that shows Sophie as a Coldplay superfan. She cried over a birthday message from Chris, which was organised as a surprise by her now ex-husband Joe.
