Amanda Holden's daughter, 19, lands huge modelling job with high street chain
TV and radio presenter Amanda Holden's daughter Lexi Hughes has landed a huge new contract as the multi-tasking teenager starts her second year at uni, despite already starting her career
Amanda Holden's 19-year-old daughter Lexi Hughes has bagged a huge new job after becoming the face of Superdrug's new own-brand skincare line, POP. The teen, who has made her catwalk debut in 2024 walking for Fran Hung at London Fashion Week, is now forging her own career in showbiz.
Lexi, who is the double of her mum, has credited Britain's Got Talent star Amanda with her love for fashion and beauty. The pair are regularly seen on social media showcasing their latest swimwear finds on holiday.
But despite her mum's fame, Lexi is determined to build a career in her own right. She hopes the collab with Superdrug will bring her more opportunities.
Lexi, Amanda and her husband Chris Hughes' eldest daughter, is a multi-tasking queen, also focusing on university, as she begins her second year. She spoke out about her new gig, describing POP as "well researched, uncomplicated" and "fun to use".
Lexi told the Mail that POP products are "very calming for young skin", adding that the skin care range is "approachable and very affordable".
She explained: "I’m just starting out and I’m very focused on Uni and doing a good job. I try to stay focused on simple things, and the things I love doing and surround myself with my friends and family."
Lexi praised her and her famous mum's relationship, saying: "She’s always there to cheer me on and give advice but also lets me find my own path and have fun with my projects." The teenager gushed over her "supportive, kind, smart and fun" mum, adding that she feels "very lucky to have her".
Proud mum Amanda, 54, beamed last year as she shared a post to celebrate her first-born's A-level results. She shared a stunning photo of her and her not-so-mini-me on Instagram, writing: "Last ever day at school. A levels done. Could not be prouder of our little @lexi.hughes__
"Brilliant, funny, resilient and all grown up.. the world is yours.. Go and live the biggest possible life .. Mummy Daddy & Hollie love you"
But although Lexi is striving for a career in the spotlight, her younger sister Hollie, 13, has snubbed fame, with Amanda admitting she is "disinterested" in her mum and her career. She recently told The Sun's TV Mag: "You do have to develop a thick skin and they both know that Mummy has one and that we take everything with a pinch of salt in our house.
"So I hope they’ve learnt enough from me. Because, obviously, there’s been moments around the dinner table and they’ve heard things and watched things, but they’re quite disinterested in me and my career – I get ignored!"
She added that Hollie crosses the road to avoid her when she picks her up from school. It comes after mum Amanda hit back at claims her daughter Lexi is a "nepo baby", pointing out that her modelling contract has "nothing to do with me being her mum".
The TV presenter previously told Radio Times: "Yes, she’s related to me, but that’s nothing to do with me. The word “nepo” can be thrown around for ever but it’s unfair it’s been used in showbiz."
Amanda explained that when she looking for her first job in her younger years, her mother helped out too. She divulged: "When I was young, I got a job in a fruit ’n’ veg shop because my mum knew the fruit ’n’ veg guy. If you know someone that can help your child get in somewhere, you’ll do whatever."
