Ozzy Osbourne, the late "Prince of Darkness," revealed in his final documentary that he once contemplated ending his life after a botched neck surgery left him in crippling pain and despair. The shocking revelation comes in Ozzy: No Escape From Now, premiering October 7 on Paramount+.

"The thought of not doing any gigs anymore - I went really into depression," Ozzy admits in the film, per Us Weekly. "I'm on antidepressants now, actually. Because I was getting ready to off myself at some point."

The Black Sabbath frontman, who died July 22 at 76, underwent multiple operations on his neck and spine following a 2019 fall that displaced metal rods from a 2003 ATV accident. Sharon Osbourne, 72, says the surgery was far too "aggressive" and caused "even more damage" to his body, despite another doctor's attempts to repair it.

Ozzy's "good luck"

Ozzy himself darkly joked that his own luck kept him from attempting suicide. "Knowing me, I'd half-do it and I'd be half-dead," he said. The documentary also features emotional testimony from Sharon and their son Jack, who blames the procedure for stripping the rocker of his ability to move.

"It makes me so angry, because I felt like all this could have been avoided," Jack says. Ozzy's battle was compounded by his Parkinson's diagnosis, which he publicly disclosed in 2020.

The family has not stopped denying rumors

The candid film sheds light on the heavy toll of the botched surgery and the family's frustration over persistent rumors, including speculation about a so-called "suicide pact" between Ozzy and Sharon - something their daughter Kelly slammed as "bulls-t" earlier this year.

Ozzy passed away just weeks after headlining a farewell concert for Black Sabbath. His family later confirmed in a statement that he died "surrounded by love" at home.
