After defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in his last fight, Jake Paul made the bold move of calling out two high-profile yet completely different boxers to face him. Anthony Joshua, a much larger and stronger former heavyweight champion, never seemed like a real option. Gervonta Davis, who's almost 100 pounds lighter than Paul in fighting weight, seemed even less realistic.

Yet Paul was able to convince "Tank" to step into the ring together. It felt like Davis was chasing a bag, and he's sure to get one if the two square off for their scheduled bout on November 14 in Miami, Florida. That fight is looking more and more unlikely, though, thanks to Davis' recent legal troubles in the form of a new lawsuit.

Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis: Who will come out on top in the ring?

Jake Paul seeking potential replacement for Gervonta Davis with fight two weeks away

With the fight two weeks away, the fight either needs to be confirmed with Davis or a shake-up must occur. On Saturday, news surfaced that Paul is already looking at replacements for Davis. While that could just be a backup plan for Paul, it's becoming clearer that Davis won't be in the ring on November 14.

As of right now, there hasn't been any legitimate names that have popped up as potential fill-ins. A rumor circulated that Ryan Garcia could be an option, but promoter Oscar De La Hoya shut that idea down quickly. Paul will likely have to settle for a much less talented opponent, and one without the fanfare Tank would have brought.

A full-on cancellation could still happen, but it would be a big blow for Netflix, who were hoping for another massive success a la Paul vs. Mike Tyson. Postponing the event would also put four championship fights, that are scheduled on the card, in limbo. That would seem to be too many moving parts. Now it's up to Paul to find the right replacement.
