You’ll want to binge BBC’s newest thriller ‘Nightsleeper’ as soon as it lands on iPlayer

TV fans will be pleased to know there is a host of exciting new dramas coming to the BBC in coming months. We’ve already seen the return of much-loved series such as Vigil and The Tourist, and the highly-anticipated book adaptations of Shuggie Bain and Murder is Easy are on their way. But there are loads more new releases on the horizon, too. Whether you’re a crime nut or love a good period drama, here are a few upcoming TV shows to get excited about…

The Greatest Showman is being turned into a West End musical

It's been seven years since The Greatest Showman was released (yes, really), and hearing just the first note is still enough to have us belting out This Is Me at full blast. The film, featuring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Zendaya, quickly became one of Disney's biggest hits of the 21st century, with its star-studded ensemble cast and oh-so-catchy soundtrack raking in a massive £340 million at the box office.

A Britney Spears biopic is in the works

When Britney Spears released her tell-all memoir last October, it shot straight to number one on all the best-seller lists. The Woman in Me detailed the singer’s early life, rise to fame and subsequent breakdown which led to the conservatorship which controlled her life for 13 years. The audiobook – read by Academy Award-nominated actor Michelle Williams, with an introduction by Spears – became the fastest-selling in Simon & Schuster’s history.

An adaptation of Wuthering Heights by Saltburn’s Emerald Fennell is in the works

When Saltburn dropped on Prime Video right before Christmas, not even its writer and director Emerald Fennell could have predicted how viral the satire would go. The film shot straight to number one on the streaming platform, where it remained for weeks; Sophie Ellis Bexter’s 2002 song Murder on the Dancefloor, which was featured in a key scene, re-entered the charts; and Saltburn-themed videos on TikTok racked up billions of views.
