This teacher helped her students see their future selves. There is great power in that. Research shows we tend to see our future selves as strangers rather than as who we'll become. But something profound happens, when you connect with your Future Self. When MIT researchers created an AI simulation - 'Future You' - letting people talk to their future selves, they noticed significant psychological shifts: ✅ People began to make bolder decisions today. ✅ They stopped questioning their worth. ✅ They built careers based on purpose, not just praise. According to Dr. Hal Hershfield's research, when we connect with our future selves, we make choices that honor our long-term vision - not just immediate demands. When we don't? ➡️ We sacrifice opportunities for comfort. ➡️ We say yes to everything except our own growth. ➡️ We delay the choices that would align with our deeper purpose. Here are 5 ways to begin connecting with your Future Self: 1/ Create Your Future Leadership Vision ↳ Stop asking: "What should I do next?" ↳ Start asking: "Who am I becoming as a leader?" ↳ Envision not just titles, but the impact you wish to make 2/ Write Letters From Your Future Self ↳ What boundaries would she tell you to set now? ↳ What skills would she want you to prioritize? ↳ What relationships would she tell you to nurture? 3/ Make Decisions Through Your Future Lens ↳ Stop making choices from urgency. ↳ Start filtering through your future wisdom. ↳ Before any major decision, ask: "What would my wisest future self advise?" 4/ Practice Future Self Meditation ↳ Set aside 5 minutes daily to connect with your future self. ↳ Breathe into the leader you're becoming. ↳ Feel the continuity between who you are and who you'll be. 5/ Create a "Future Leader" Board ↳ Collect images, quotes, and stories that represent your future self. ↳ Review it before high-stakes meetings. ↳ Let it guide your present choices when self-doubt appears. When you begin anchoring your identity in your Future Self: You stop waiting to be chosen. You start making conscious choices. You stop dimming your vision. You start embodying it today. This is what conscious leadership makes possible: Clear decisions that honor both your present capacity and future vision. Which of these practices would be most powerful for where you are in your leadership journey right now? I'd love to hear in the comments. 📚 Explore this concept more in my book - The Conscious Choice ♻ Repost if this resonated. 🔔 Follow Bhavna Toor for more insights on leading with purpose

When was the last time you asked yourself: ‘What’s really working and what isn’t?’ Most professionals don’t. They keep moving from one task to the next, mistaking busyness for progress. But here’s the truth I’ve seen in 10+ years of coaching: 👉 Your career doesn’t stall because of lack of effort. 👉 It stalls because of lack of reflection. That’s why I use a structured self-reflection framework every week and I teach my clients to do the same. 🟢 My Reflection Framework 1. Core Purpose Questions (Weekly) ✔ Am I still excited about my end goal? ✔ What did I do this week that moved me closer? ✔ Which activities pulled me away? 2. Growth & Learning Check (Bi-weekly) ✔ What new skills am I building? ✔ Have I challenged my assumptions lately? ✔ Who can I learn from right now? 3. Action & Adjustment (Monthly) ✔ Are my daily habits supporting my vision? ✔ What’s working well that I should double down on? ✔ What’s one thing I need to stop doing? 4. Impact & Connection (Quarterly) ✔ How am I helping others while pursuing my goals? ✔ Who are the key people supporting me? ✔ Which relationships need more attention? 5. Vision Alignment (Every 6 Months) ✔ Does my current path still excite me? ✔ Have my priorities changed? ✔ Do I need to adjust my timeline? I keep these questions in my phone’s notes app. Every week, I revisit them. Every month, I review patterns. Every quarter, I reset my focus. And over the last 3 years, this single habit has helped me: ✨ Stay aligned with my vision ✨ Catch blind spots early ✨ Celebrate progress (even the small wins) ✨ Avoid drifting when things got busy 👉 So, when was the last time you asked yourself the hard questions? P.S. If you want more updated insights, practical strategies, and frameworks like this to stay aligned and accelerate your career. 👉 Join my Career Spotlight Group (link in comments). #Goal #PersonalGrowth #Clarity

There's an activity I do once a year to create a crystal clear vision. It gives my life more direction and meaning. I urge everyone I coach to do it. See yourself 5 years from today. Then, write what a typical day looks like - and feels like - in great detail. → Where do you live? Same place as now, new house, new city? → What's your morning routine? How do you feel when you get up? Rested, energized, excited - and why? What does that first deep breath do for you? What are you looking forward to that day? Why are you looking forward to it? → Work day: describe your work setting. Home, big office, your own gig? What's your role? What makes this great for you? Be very detailed about the scene. Describe the sensations. → When do you leave work to go home? What's that like - short commute, what car are you driving, taking the subway? → What happens in the evening? Who's with you? Who made/got dinner? Are you eating healthy? Do you have an exercise routine? Do you meditate? Socialize? What vacations are you planning? What are you grateful for? These questions force you to be so detailed and visual that you can practically experience your vision. My write-up is 3 pages long. I tweak it yearly. → Notice that no part of this exercise requires you to come up with a detailed plan. It's simply a very detailed vision. Once a month, read what you wrote down about your future. → Take a walk and read it out loud. → → Close your eyes and see it. → → → Feel it. Your mind will automatically start filling in the blanks to get you there. → Make it feel real → And it becomes real. When should you do this exercise? Today. Because it's the first day of the rest of your life. #growth #mindset *** ♻️ Like this? Please repost. ➡️ Follow me for daily executive coaching.

How to Actually Create a Life Vision for Yourself Works if you’ve ever rolled your eyes at vision boards: I used to hate the word “vision.” Not because I didn’t want one (I did). But because every time I tried, it felt like I was just pasting magazine cutouts of someone else’s dream. 𝘐 𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘵 3 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘣𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦. So I had to figure out: how do you actually create a vision that feels like yours? Here’s what I discovered: Most people set visions like they’re writing a shopping list. “Big house. Dream job. Fancy holidays.” That’s not a vision. That’s consumerism. A vision is not about what you want to collect. It's about who you want to become. Here’s the simple shift that changes everything: ➡️ Instead of asking “What do I want to have?” Ask “What do I want to feel?” ➡️ Instead of asking “What goals should I chase?” Ask “What kind of days would I be proud to live?” ➡️ Instead of asking “Where should I be in 5 years?” Ask “Who would I like to become with the choices I make today?” That’s when your vision stops being a Pinterest board… …and starts being a compass. The psychology is simple: When your vision is rooted in feelings → your decisions align naturally. When it’s rooted in stuff → you keep running without ever feeling “there.” Women don’t need another list of goals. We need clarity about the life that feels like ours. Your vision should be so clear that it feels like a homecoming, not a performance. Because here’s the truth: 👉 A real vision doesn’t pressure you. 👉 A real vision pulls you forward. And once you see it, the next steps stop feeling like discipline… and start feeling like alignment. ✨ If you’ve been struggling to create a vision that feels true (not performative), DM me VISION. I’ll share my framework for helping women design lives they’re actually excited to wake up to.

What’s your personal “why”? Organizations invest heavily in defining their mission, vision, and strategy—articulating their purpose, their aspirations, and the roadmap to achieve them. But what if we approached our own lives with that same intentionality? Here’s how you can start: 1️⃣ Clarify your strengths: Reflect on your unique gifts and what you’re meant to bring to the world. 2️⃣ Look ahead: Think about where you’d like to be in one, three, or even five years. 3️⃣ Align your actions: Use your vision as a filter for decisions, focusing on what truly moves you closer to your goals. I’ve worked with countless leaders, and the ones who thrive—personally and professionally—are the ones who get clear about their purpose. This clarity fuels their focus, enabling them to move forward with intention and confidence. So, let me ask you: If you could identify one goal that represents your personal “why,” what would it be?

In this folder, I keep my original vision from 2022—when I was weeks away from launching my business. Just black Sharpie on two sheets of printer paper, in big capital letters: How I wanted to show up for my family, what kind of business I wanted to build, how I’d spend my days and weeks, what I wanted to make room for in my life. Basically answering the question: why the hell am I doing this? Those pieces of paper helped me understand where I was heading. If I was going to trade becoming a VP for becoming a coach, I needed clarity about what might be on the other side of that. Now, vision is where all my clients begin. Literally in the first session. It’s the first thing I deliver: a set of powerful statements that bring the future to life. (One client told me they printed theirs out and keep it on their desk. They call it their “10 Commandments.”) Vision becomes the new compass, and it replaces the old GPS I call “navigation-by-title”. That’s what got that person to Director or VP level, but it’s not what guides them to greater impact. 👇 If you’re a senior leader figuring out your next chapter, here’s what most people will tell you to do: talk to your network, brainstorm adjacent industries that might need your skills, maybe even make a list your “requirements” for your next job. In my experience, that’s just going to get you more of the same. Here’s a better idea: write a vision for your life a year from now. Not what seems possible or strategic, but what you actually want—in your work, in your growth, in your personal time and relationships. Zoom out. That’s how you start moving with more purpose.
