Ask Google Earth is now directly integrated with our data catalog. Try these 3 prompts to shortcut your path to insight: https://goo.gle/4caHjDW 🔍 Terrain assessment: ""Help me visualize elevation in Golden, Colorado."" 📍 Urban planning: ""Map out the EV chargers and driveway counts near Jacksonville, Florida.” 🏗️ Site selection: ""Visualize zoning information for Phoenix, Arizona."" Manually finding, formatting, and combining geospatial data takes hours of work. Our mission is to eliminate that busywork entirely. Today, we got a little closer. Just use natural language to ask for the data you’re looking for, and watch Ask Google Earth visualize the required layers directly onto your canvas. Turning manual research into instant insights. (Note: Ask Google Earth is currently available in Experimental to US users on the web).

Google Maps Platform reposted this
The new 'Flatten the Mesh' feature makes it incredibly easy to add custom architecture to a photorealistic 3D map! If you've ever tried placing custom models onto a map, you know that existing buildings or trees can get in the way. Now, you can remove the default 3D structures—while keeping the underlying terrain and elevation intact—creating a perfectly clean canvas for your own assets. This new feature from Google Maps Platform is going to be a massive workflow boost for architectural visualization and city planners who need to preview new developments in their exact real-world context without fighting the default map geometry. The demo above shows the Bieberhaus in Hamburg where our Ubilabs office is located, and what a different building would look like in its place. And to be honest, I prefer the current style!
