The U.S. Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service, Regional Veteran Employment Coordinator, Matthew Passmore, spoke at the Student Veterans of America National Conference last week, the largest annual convening of student veterans. He engaged with employers and stakeholders on veteran employment priorities, highlighted federal workforce resources and best practices, and supported discussions focused on improving career pathways, retention, and advancing long-term employment outcomes for student veterans and the broader military-affiliated community. This engagement strengthened national partnerships and reinforced the role of the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service as the federal lead for veteran employment.

The US Department of Labor announced $23M in available grant funding to organizations that support veterans. Award recipients will be chosen to deliver workplace skills training, support participation in Registered Apprenticeship programs or other types of on-the-job training, and supply employment placement assistance.
