Source4Learn Community liked thisSource4Learn Community liked thisReasons I prefer WFH to an office (tongue in cheek): 1. It's quieter 2. I can regulate the temperature (as a female of a certain age this is very important to me) 3. I don't see or get dragged into office politics 4. If someone is being moody or sulky I don't feel their negative energy 5. No commute 6. No queue for the kettle 7. I can prepare real food and not rely on sandwiches 8. The bathroom is always clean 9. I can check my phone if I want to 10. If someone annoys me, at least I'm not near them 11. I can nap at lunchtime if I want to. Or I can walk in a beautiful park 12. I don't have to leave at a certain time to beat the traffic 13. I don't have to make tea / coffee for 15 people 14. I don't feel I have to look busy all the time in case a boss happens to glance over at me 15. Much less distraction 16. I don't have to take half day holidays to wait in for a boiler repair (or similar) 17. Nobody steals my lunch from the fridge 18. I don't have to sit next to somebody eating mackerel or someone who's just come back from a smoke break 19. I can concentrate better 20. I have space to move around, I don't feel like a battery hen 21. Not breathing in reconditioned air from the air con 22. I can open a window 23. I see the wildlife in my garden 24. No long commute means I can cook proper meals on an evening 25. It's safer (less chance of a car accident on a long and busy commute) or catching Covid or other viruses 26. I can adjust the lighting to suit my eyes 27. If I'm a minute late I'm not getting colleague's disapproval 28. My dog 29. Home to collect parcels 30. Being around too many people really drains my social battery 31. If I'm not feeling too well I can still work without having to worry about driving 32. I know that everyone who uses the bathroom washes their hands so I don't have to open doors with my elbows 33. I can use lovely aromatherapy oils in my vaporiser or light candles 34. I can have my favourite breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon every day if I want to 35. The snack cupboard is better stocked 36. I can stand up from my desk and have a little boogie if I feel I need to move 37. I can wear slippers all day. Or go barefoot if my feet get hot 38. I don't have to get up so early 39. I don't have to go to bed so early 40. I can listen to classical music Well I saw a post about WFH and it inspired me to write a little list. I didn't think it would be this long! Have I missed anything? Why do you like (or not like) WFH? EDIT: this isn't "my" office. It's a list of why I am personally grateful to work from home, it is light hearted, lightly humourous and is a list collated from over 30 years of working in different offices. #happyminds #happymindshypnotherapy

💡Explore the Innovations in OSM-MR#18 🚀 The latest OSM meeting introduced powerful advancements in cloud-native network automation — with a key highlight being the OSM Kubernetes Application (OKA). In this demo, Gerardo García de Blas walks us through the preparation of an OSM Kubernetes Application (OKA) —a powerful blueprint designed to streamline the deployment of Kubernetes Service Units (KSUs). Each deployment is built using three version-controlled layers: 🔹 Manifests – base configuration files 🔹 Overlays – customized changes 🔹 Instantiation Modifications – dynamic tuning at deployment time This layered structure simplifies complex deployments while maintaining control and adaptability. 🎥 Watch the full demo recording: https://lnkd.in/eqjqjR2q 📘👉 Dive into the documentation: https://lnkd.in/dvrT5rQ ETSI OpenSourceMANO Kubernetes #OKA #KSU #NFVDeployment #Containerization #GitRepository #CloudInfrastructure

Mumbai companies using Kubernetes often suffer outages because DevOps engineers dont understand stateful workloads, operators, CRDs, or cluster internals. This blocks advanced workloads like databases and queues. This case study shows how EOR helped us hire K8s-internals engineers for the client. Searching Kubernetes internals Mumbai, statefulset engineer India, or operator DevOps hiring India? This case connects strongly. We deployed engineers skilled in cluster internals, operators, CRDs, and complex K8s design. Your cluster becomes high-level and production-ready. 🚀 Log Monitoring in Kubernetes: A Simple and Effective Approach In the world of containers, log monitoring is essential for maintaining visibility and control of applications. This simplified approach allows collecting, processing, and analyzing logs efficiently without unnecessary complexities, using accessible tools like Fluentd for collection and Elasticsearch for storage. 🔍 Key Benefits of Effective Monitoring • 📊 Improves rapid debugging by centralizing logs from pods and nodes. • ⚡ Reduces downtime by detecting anomalies in real time. • 🔒 Strengthens security by identifying suspicious patterns in traffic. 🛠️ Steps to Implement a Basic System • 📥 Install Fluentd as a DaemonSet to capture logs from all containers. • 💾 Configure Elasticsearch as a backend to index and search data scalably. • 📈 Integrate Kibana for intuitive visualizations and custom alerts. This method is ideal for DevOps teams seeking simplicity without sacrificing robustness, scaling from small clusters to enterprise environments. The recent launch of Gateway API v1.3.0 marks a significant step forward for Kubernetes networking. This update introduces key features like percentage-based request mirroring and CORS filtering, enhancing API stability and security. Request mirroring allows for more nuanced traffic management, enabling operators to test new versions of services without overwhelming the system. By implementing consistent-hash buckets, the update minimizes bias during high request rates, streamlining the deployment of canary releases. Moreover, the introduction of CORS filtering at the gateway level simplifies header management, allowing for centralized security policies. This not only reduces complexity in microservices but also enhances the overall security posture of applications. As major implementations such as Envoy and Istio adopt these features, the industry is poised for faster, more reliable service deployments. This release is a testament to the community's commitment to improving Kubernetes networking capabilities. For a deeper dive into the enhancements and best practices, explore the full details here: https://lnkd.in/evEZyE46

Kubernetes v1.34: Finer-Grained Control Over Container Restarts: Kubernetes has announced the release of version 1.34, introducing a significant enhancement with its per-container restart policy feature. This new capability allows developers more control over how and when their containers restart after failures, ultimately improving application reliability and resource management. With the per-container restart policy, users can specify different restart behaviors at the container level rather than at the pod level. This granularity helps in optimizing the uptime of critical services while allowing less critical services to restart as needed, fostering a more resilient application architecture. In conjunction with this feature, Kubernetes 1.34 has made various improvements in usability and performance, making it easier for developers to manage complex deployments. Enhanced documentation and tutorials further support DevOps teams in implementing these new features effectively, helping them to leverage Kubernetes's full potential. As the cloud-native landscape continues to evolve, these updates will significantly impact how organizations design their applications and maintain operational excellence, reinforcing Kubernetes's position as the leading container orchestration platform in the industry. Kubernetes provides the building blocks, but scaling an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) requires a clear architectural strategy. Join Manjula Rathnayaka (Director of Engineering, WSO2) at KCD Delhi on February 21, 2026, as we explore OpenChoreo’s plane-based architecture. We will discuss how a modular approach simplifies platform management by separating key concerns: •Control Plane: Centralized orchestration and governance. •Data Plane: Scalable workload execution across clusters. •Build and Observability Planes: Standardized CI workflows and consistent telemetry. We will demonstrate how to use Cells to map Kubernetes resources to Domain-Driven Design principles, providing developers with high-level abstractions like Components and Endpoints instead of complex YAML.
