CISA has ended its agreement with the Center for Internet Security (which runs the MS-ISAC supporting states and municipalities) . At the same time, the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act itself is set to expire, with no reauthorization in place. Both moves hurt our national cyber defense. Why? • Threat intel sharing matters. Attacks are not isolated; one company sees the “tail,” another the “torso,” and only through sharing do we see the whole beast. • Protections matter. CISA gives/gave organizations a legal framework to share threats without fear of liability. Losing that will chill reporting at the exact time adversaries are getting bolder. • This is not partisan. Whether you lean left, right, or center, protecting our critical infrastructure, businesses, and citizens from cyberattacks is in everyone’s interest. Letting these programs die, whether from politics, timing, or neglect, leaves the U.S. weaker. Renewal and reinforcement of information sharing should be a priority. Cybersecurity does not care about political lines. Neither should our defenses. It is sitting in some proposed bills for renewal but there is some political divide about making potential changes at this time and whether to make a stopgap extension versus long term solution. The focus appears to be on the government shutdown first however before this renewal may get solved. - CISA states that the conclusion/termination of the program with CIS is to allow them to work directly with SLTT partners moving forward. 👨💻 Atanas Atanasov liked this👨💻 Atanas Atanasov liked thisIf you're using Next.js Server Actions with an external Backend API, read this before you lose your mind. You set your refreshToken on the backend: res.cookie("refreshToken", token, { httpOnly: true }) You check the browser's Application tab... Empty. You check your logout logic... req.cookies is undefined. The Culprit? The "Proxy" Trap. When you use a Server Action, your Next.js server acts as a middleman. 👉 The Browser calls Next.js. 👉 Next.js calls your Backend. 👉 Your Backend sends a cookie to Next.js, not the browser. Since the browser never "spoke" to your backend, it never received the Set-Cookie header. It has no idea that cookie even exists. The Fix (Save this for later!) 💾 : You have to manually "hand-carry" the cookie from the backend response and give it to the browser through Next.js. ✅ In your Sign-In Action: Don't just return the data. Extract the header from the backend fetch response and use cookies().set() to pass it along to the client.set-cookie ✅ In your Logout Action: Remember that Next.js won't automatically send that cookie back to your API. You must manually inject it into the Cookie header of your fetch request. Pro Tip: Use set-cookie-parser to handle those messy header strings. It'll save you from regex nightmares when dealing with multiple cookies or expiration dates. Stop treating Server Actions like standard frontend fetches.
