    Very proud to have served the school community that helped to shape my son into the middle schooler that he is. I somehow found myself as the PTA president when he was an incoming Kindergartener and loved every minute of it. Okay, while that is a lie, not every minute was "smelling like roses," I did love the experience. Not only was I able to get to know the community in a way that mattered, I had the opportunity to matter. During my time there, I was PTA President for 3 years, sat on…

I somehow found myself as the PTA president when he was an incoming Kindergartener and loved every minute of it. Okay, while that is a lie, not every minute was "smelling like roses," I did love the experience. Not only was I able to get to know the community in a way that mattered, I had the opportunity to matter. During my time there, I was PTA President for 3 years, sat on the board all but one of the six. We saw the Pumpkin Fair become a community event and the school become approved as an affiliate charter. Being a volunteer board member at any organization has its challenges, but is so rewarding that I miss it.
