I am very pleased to announce that the Public Health and Health Planning Council of New York State's Health Planning Committee is holding a meeting this Wednesday to discuss the options of allowing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) procedures in Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Both the New York State Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (NYSAASC) and the New York Ambulatory Cardiovascular Society (NYACS) has been working to move this forward. Granting us this ability will open patient access and save lives!

Proud to announce the opening of Catholic Health Ambulatory & Urgent Care at Melville, one of many sites we’re developing to make it easier for our communities across Long Island to access the care they need, when and where they need it.   This new center brings together primary care, walk-in urgent care, and specialty services, including cardiac care from St. Francis Heart Center. AccendoWave - A Pain #Data Company Pittsburgh-based UPMC’s venture capital arm, UPMC Enterprises, has launched its second company in partnership with venture-builder Redesign Health. The new company, Glimmer Health, supports primary care physicians in delivering comprehensive chronic #pain management, according to a May 12 news release. It offers an integrated platform modeled after UPMC’s network of multimodal pain management clinics, which develop treatment plans combining physical therapy, medications, mental health support and other individualized strategies. https://lnkd.in/gWpZDYAb

In the opening panel, Mehmet Oz welcomed Sumit Rana, Brian Anderson, MD, Amy Gleason, and Susan Sheridan to discuss the future of patient-centered, cost effective care Three key themes are driving the conversation: 1️⃣ Payment and prior authorization reform will help patients get the right care at the right time. 2️⃣ Digital transformation and interoperability decrease cost improve care. 3️⃣ High-quality, accountable care is improved with in-workflow decision support for clinicians. As a family physician, these priorities reflect what matters most in daily practice—meeting patients where they are, with the right tools, at the right time. And, decreasing the diagnostic journey (the time to get to good diagnosis and treatment) so patients can be healthier, faster. Epic is working on MyChart Central and is supporting a national provider directory to help this work move forward.
