As part of its long-standing partnership with Legacy Community Health, Houston Methodist is now home to C-CUR, an outreach program funded by the Cancer Prevention Institute of Texas that identifies patients who may need additional assistance in cancer screening and care. Community health workers lead these outreach efforts, offering eligible patients hepatitis C and liver, breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings. If patients test positive for cancer, they receive care through Harris County Health, Medicare/Medicaid or at the Houston Methodist Hospital Office of Community Benefits. https://lnkd.in/gRPg2yhr

It’s National Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Week — a time to recognize the professionals who contribute every day to high-quality, patient-centered care at Texas Children’s Cancer & Hematology Center.   APPs — including Physician Assistants/Associates, Nurse Practitioners, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Certified Midwives, and Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants — are essential members of our care teams.   They assess, diagnose, treat, and manage complex conditions. They support families, conduct clinical research, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure our patients receive safe, evidence-based care.
