The Zellerbach Family Foundation funds important work in the San Francisco Bay Area to deepen community involvement, advance fair policies and practices, and creatively express our shared humanity. Under Executive Director Allison Magee's leadership, grants earmarked for “general operating support” increased from 4% in 2014 to 86% in 2024, enabling non-profit leaders to allocate funds to optimize their outcomes.

The SCAN Foundation believes that by prioritizing the needs of underrepresented older adults, we can create more equitable solutions that benefit everyone. As a member of the Implementing the MPA in CA Together (IMPACT) Stakeholder Committee, I am proud to contribute to California’s Master Plan for Aging (MPA) to help ensure that older adults, people with disabilities, and family caregivers have the support they need to age with dignity and purpose. The MPA annual report highlights key successes in advancing the five bold goals for 2030, including efforts to expand access to home and community-based services. Looking ahead to 2025-26, we continue to focus on elevating the lived experiences of underrepresented older adults to shape policies and programs that reflect the diverse needs of California’s aging population. California remains a leader in implementing the MPA, ensuring that new initiatives are rooted in stakeholder feedback and drive meaningful change. By advancing equitable solutions, we can build a future where everyone can age with dignity, purpose, and support.
