From a Parking Lot to a Powerful Convergence Against Cancer! What began as a simple parking lot for Access Bank Plc warriors on Friday transformed into something much greater by Saturday: a powerful convergence of steps united in the fight against cancer. Cancer touches in different way. For some, it’s a personal battle fought in silence; for others, it's a painful reminder of a loved one lost. Whether we’ve felt its sting personally or heard the stories that haunt us, one thing is clear we are all connected by this fight. It was truly humbling to witness colleagues from across Access Holdings Plc verticals and indeed friends of Access Bank Plc showing up in force, not only to walk but to invite their friends, family, and loved ones to echo the message of early detection, regular checks, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. But the most powerful moment for me was seeing the faces of the women who participated in the screenings, their smiles of relief as they received a clean bill of health. It reminded me that what we did wasn’t just about walking. It was about saving lives, offering a sense of security, and showing that these efforts matter. We walked for those who couldn’t. We walked for those who fought and triumphed. We walked to remind those still battling: you are not alone. Remember that phrase most millennials in Nigeria grew up with? "Prevention is better than cure." It was more than just a saying; i think it was a warning, a reminder to act before it’s too late. Growing up, we heard it often, but it wasn’t until last Saturday that I truly understood its weight. We gathered for a 6km walk to raise awareness for breast cancer. A walk for stories, a walk for change, a walk to inspire hope. In these images, you’ll spot me holding a placard that reads, "Early detection saves lives." It’s essentially a fancy way of saying prevention is better than cure. But it goes deeper than that. Here’s the kicker! I was shocked to learn that men can also get breast cancer. I know, I know... How??? I thought the same thing. But it’s true, and I urge you to do your own research. This is why awareness is so important. Oh, and about my sleeves? No, it’s not a fashion statement. It was just a hot Saturday afternoon with my crew from Access Holdings Plc, the parent company of Access Bank Plc.
