Song for Charlie is a family-run nonprofit charity dedicated to raising awareness about counterfeit prescription pills.
About us
Song for Charlie is a family-run nonprofit charity dedicated to raising awareness about ‘fentapills’ — fake pills made of fentanyl. We partner with experts, educators, parents and other influencers to reach the most vulnerable group: young people between the ages 13-24. Our programs highlight the emerging dangers of self-medication and casual drug use in the fentanyl era and encourage healthier strategies for coping with stress.

Fake prescription pills show up in a lot of places – social media, parties, campuses – and many are made with deadly fentanyl. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, don’t risk it. As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, we premiered La Estrella, our new Spanish language film, at Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles. There were tears, hugs and conversations that went on for hours. La Estrella is now the centerpiece of La Nueva Drug Talk, our program bringing fentanyl awareness and mental health and wellness resources to Latino families. We're grateful to Jose Arellano, Fabian Debora, Mike de la Rocha, and everyone at Homeboy Industries for hosting us, and to Tepito Coffee/Revolve Impact and Homegirl Cafe for their support. It was humbling to join Ed Ternan and Mary C. Nally Ternan on the campus of Santa Clara University this week to honor their son Charlie by helping raise awareness of the dangers of illicit drugs and what we can do to help protect ourselves and our loved ones. #Meta is a proud sponsor and supporter of Song for Charlie and I’m personally grateful for their partnership.
