🎙 I’m glad to share my contribution to the Building Architecture Culture Public Programme, which accompanies Albania’s participation in the Biennale Architettura 2025, curated by Anneke Abhelakh.   The podcast, curated by her, Andi Arifaj and Adonel Myzyri in collaboration with koozarch studio and Federica Sofia Zambeletti, offers a space to reflect on how architecture shapes — and is shaped by — society. Tre anni fa nasceva a Treviso Ca’ delle Alzaie. Attraverso la presenza del verde sui due fronti principali, i tre edifici richiamano le qualità del paesaggio circostante, di cui riprendono l’aspetto mutevole nelle stagioni, e garantiscono un’alta qualità della vita, in diretta relazione con gli spazi aperti. In totale, la vegetazione rappresenta il 51% della superficie del progetto, circa 2 ettari, con la messa a dimora di 400 piante a basso fusto e 170 alberi, di cui 120 sulle facciate. Selezionate dall’agronoma Laura Gatti tra le specie autoctone individuate dal piano ambientale del Parco del Sile, le piante di Ca’ delle Alzaie diventano un hotspot di biodiversità, incrementando il valore ambientale del progetto.  Il progetto di Ca’ delle Alzaie è orientato al risparmio energetico e all’attenzione alla sostenibilità a 360 gradi: da qui la scelta di vernici anti-inquinamento, l’utilizzo di fonti di energia rinnovabili e la selezione dei materiali utilizzati per gli spazi interni e per le superfici esterne degli edifici. Three years ago, Ca’ delle Alzaie was born in Treviso. Through the presence of greenery on the two main fronts, the three buildings recall the qualities of the surrounding landscape, whose appearance changes with the seasons, and guarantee a high quality of life, in direct relation with the open spaces. In total, vegetation accounts for 51% of the project’s surface area, about 2 hectares, with the planting of 400 low-trunk trees and 170 trees, 120 of which on the façades. Selected by agronomist Laura Gatti from among the native species identified by the Sile Park environmental plan, the plants in Ca’ delle Alzaie become a biodiversity hotspot, increasing the environmental value of the project. The Ca’ delle Alzaie project is oriented towards energy conservation and comprehensive sustainability: hence the choice of anti-pollution paints, the use of renewable energy sources, and the selection of materials used for the interior spaces and exterior surfaces of the buildings. Con Building Office Buildings, abbiamo esplorato i nuovi scenari di progettazione degli spazi per uffici, ragionando insieme su come integrarli con il verde. 🌿 A partire dal nostro progetto Wonderwoods, all’interno del quale si è svolto l’incontro, abbiamo discusso di come il modello del bosco verticale possa adattarsi a diversi contesti ambientali, tipologie edilizie ed esigenze funzionali. Un’occasione utilissima per riflettere su come l’architettura possa evolvere verso soluzioni sempre più sostenibili, inclusive e integrate con la natura. Stefano Boeri Architetti participates in Cityscape Global, the major real estate event taking place in Riyadh from November 17 to 20, 2025. Stefano Boeri takes part in the “Future of Living Summit”, delivering a speech on November 19, 2025, titled “A Vision for Greener Cities”, sharing his vision for the cities of tomorrow. Starting from the case of the Bosco Verticale (Boeri Studio, Milan, 2014), we will analyze how this project became an international model of urban sustainability, capable of inspiring adaptations - at different scales - in diverse climatic and cultural contexts. Wonderwoods Vertical Forest our latest project in Utrecth, wins the New Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements Awards 2025. The award is established by the Global Forum on Human Settlements: supported by United Nations agencies and international organisations, the programme aims to accelerate the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable development goals (SDGs), focusing on sustainable cities and communities. The award ceremony was held at the World Meteorological Organization, the agency of the United Nations that promotes international cooperation on meteorology and climate. Winner in the Building & Community: Global Model of Smart Green Building/Community category, Wonderwoods Vertical Forest is a 104-metre tower that reinterprets the vertical forest model. The project, already awarded with several international recognitions, is the first mixed-use vertical forest in the world, characterised by the presence of public functions open to citizens, with the aim of making this architectural typology increasingly integrated into the urban fabric.
