Boardroom meetings and high-profile engagements are powerful, but few moments compare to the privilege of addressing our newest graduate hires at PwC Nigeria. As a partner leading our Consultancy and Risk Services practice, one of the most fulfilling aspects of my role is engaging with the early-career professionals that join our workforce. The faces may change, but the energy in the room remains constant: genuine enthusiasm, bold ambitions, intriguing questions, and a contagious sense of possibility. Each session is a humbling reminder of the first day of my now twenty-eight-year career (twenty-three of which I have spent here at the PwC London and Lagos offices). It’s a full-circle moment that reinforces the importance of legacy, mentorship, and intentional leadership. You see, our decision to have partners interact directly with new hires is deliberate. We are cultivating a generation of professionals who are not only technically sound but also confident in engaging with leadership, whether in business, politics, or society at large. These sessions are more than introductions; they are cultural handshakes, transferring our ethos, values, and expectations to those who will shape the future of our firm and our country. It was also a pleasure to meet some of the new joiners who had previously connected with me here on LinkedIn. That kind of initiative and curiosity is exactly what we hope to nurture, because beyond strategy and execution, leadership is about the ability to inspire. Here’s to the next generation of leaders in the room. Welcome to PwC. #PwCNigeria #GraduateInduction #TeamPwC #GrowHereGoFurther #Leadership #Consulting #PeopleFirst #NextGenLeaders

I recently had the pleasure of hosting our colleagues from PwC South Africa, Dr Dayalan Govender (PhD) - Associate Professor, Beverley Green, Harshini Rattan, and Devon Haantjes, who’ve been working closely with us on an exciting transformation project focusing on a multinational across Africa. This project centers on reinventing our client’s business model and unlocking new market segments through innovative products. Indeed, business model reinvention is no longer optional in today’s rapidly evolving landscape where technologies like artificial intelligence, blockchain, and IoT are disrupting industries, customer expectations are shifting daily, and investors and regulators are demanding greener, more ethical operations. As with many large-scale transformations, this requires a delicate balance of maintaining the current business while managing disruption. But it’s not our first rodeo. We’re proud to have delivered a similar engagement for our client within the Nigerian market, a project that culminated in outstanding success and paved the way for our ongoing work across Africa. With the first phase now complete, we took a moment to pause, reflect, and connect. It was a wonderful evening of camaraderie with our partners, directors, managers, and associates from both Nigeria and South Africa who have collaborated to make this project a success so far. Moments like these go beyond the boardroom. They help us build a culture of shared purpose and connection across geographies, career levels, and projects. #BusinessModelReinvention #Technology #Transformation #Africa
