Global Mammal Big Day – October 5th 2025 On October 5th 2025, a week before the Global Wildlife Fair, thousands of people around the globe will go out to record as many mammal species as possible during the first ever Global Mammal Big Day. From common hedgehogs and deer to elusive wild cats and bats, every sighting matters—and contributes to science and conservation. Official partner We’re proud to announce that Observation.org will be the official data platform for Global Mammal Big Day 2025. As a global biodiversity recording network, Observation.org makes it easy for anyone, anywhere, to contribute valuable mammal observations using their website or the ObsIdentify app. With their tools and expertise, Observation.org will power this worldwide citizen science event. We need your help! All data submitted on October 5th will directly support conservation efforts and help create a clearer picture of mammal diversity across the planet. So what we would like to ask is: 1. Sign Up Create a free account at Observation.org to get started. It takes just a few minutes. 2. Observe Mammals on October 5th Head outside—whether it’s your backyard, a local park, a mountain trail, or even your balcony—and keep your eyes and ears open for mammals. You don’t need to travel far or be an expert. All experience levels and all records are welcome. 3. Record What You See Use the Observation.org app or mobile website to log your sightings directly from your phone, or submit your observations later through the website.
