Without Fear or Favour 💪 - The Motto for the Financial Times, and now a phrase I am proud to represent. ⭐ I am thrilled to announce I have been selected as a Financial Times Student Advocate within my school, Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet As part of this role, I'll be helping to promote financial literacy among students, encourage curiosity and discussion regarding global affairs and connect with fellow students within the world of business, technology and economics through the incredible work of FT Schools. As someone passionate about economics, innovation and policy, I'm truly excited to explore how trusted journalism and data-driven insights can assist students to better understand the forces which shape our world. I'm looking forward to working with other students and improving my journalism and engagement skills. Of course, I am indebted to my economics teachers, Krishna Shah, Kishen Patel and Abdoulaye Diallo. 1st who inspired my passion for this subject. I’ve been selected as a Financial Times Student Advocate! The Financial Times stands for “Without fear and without favour” — a motto that reflects its commitment to truth, integrity, and insightful journalism. As an advocate, I’m excited to embody these values by promoting financial literacy, critical thinking, and engagement with global current affairs among students. Today’s introductory meeting was a fantastic opportunity to connect with other advocates and share ideas about how we can inspire our peers to explore the world through the lens of the FT. I’m really looking forward to making the most of this role and being part of a community that values informed perspectives and independent thought. FT Schools

Hi network! I’m excited to announce that I have been named one of the joint winners of the Young Economist of the Year 2025, run by Royal Economic Society and Discover Economics, as well as being supported by KPMG UK and FT Schools. Being able to present my work at KPMG alongside the other finalists- Nathan d'Almeida, Amber Sarwar, Hardik Ingale and 'The King's Economists' (Deni Darenberg, George Champion, Joseph Brannigan, Sen Patel and Lucas Day)- was such an experience! The exhaustive range of ideas, research, and creativity on display was genuinely inspiring, and I learnt so much from hearing how everyone approached and showed their unique take on their topics. The day itself was unforgettable (certainly not my normal Tuesday!)- from presenting to a panel of judges who asked thought-provoking questions, to getting a behind-the-scenes look at how economics comes to life at KPMG UK. None of this would be possible without the people behind it! A huge, huge thank you to Sam McLoughlin and Maria Georgouli Loupi for making the experience so welcoming, the judges Fiona Cox, PhD, Giovanni Razzu, Delphine Strauss and Elaine Kelly for taking the time to listen and give thoughtful questions and feedback (and engaging with my work so critically!!), and everyone at Royal Economic Society and KPMG UK for organising such a thoughtful and encouraging competition. From visiting HM Treasury and 10 Downing Street, to presenting at KPMG, this journey has reminded me why I love economics and I’m so grateful for everyone who made this experience possible! :)

I am delighted to announce my success in winning the Young Economist of the Year UK competition for 2025. Having presented at the KPMG offices at 15 Canada Square, my group emerged as joint winners of the competition. As a result, our research on the impact of aviation expansion for the UK will be published in the Financial Times in the near future. I would like to thank the fellow members of my team: George Champion Lucas Day Deni Darenberg and Sen Patel, for such amazing teamwork that led to our success. Furthermore, I would like to express my gratitude to KPMG UK for allowing me to present and tour their prestigious offices, as well as Discover Economics and FT Schools for the opportunity of this competition. It is a real privilege to have had the occasion to interact with leading economics experts, and has opened my eyes to the many ways economics plays a leading role in the systems of the world.
