The UK-US relationship is built by people, and the connections they forge across the Atlantic. Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy joined Marshall Scholars past and present Dhruvak Mirani, Dr. Rebecca Peters and Katie Scheiber to discuss how educational exchange strengthens the bond between our two nations. Since 1953, Marshall Scholarships have brought talented young Americans to study in the UK, creating lasting connections that span careers, disciplines, and generations. As the US gears up to marks its 250th anniversary, we're proud to continue investing in the next generation of leaders who will shape our shared future.

Starting 2026 with a win for inclusive trade🌍 Big news for global trade and development: the Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) just got even better. From 1 January 2026, the scheme now makes it easier for businesses in DCTS partner countries to: ✅ Source inputs from multiple countries ✅ Process or manufacture goods locally ✅ Export these goods duty-free to the UK Why does this matter? Since launch, nearly £22 billion worth of goods imported by the UK from developing countries have already benefited from tariff savings under the DCTS [1]. This is a win for businesses, a win for developing economies, and a win for global trade. 👉 Learn more about the changes and how they could help your business: https://lnkd.in/eqqHmgHd #DCTS #UKTrade #TradeForDevelopment #RulesOfOrigin [1] Source: HMRC Import Preference Data, Accessed 7th January 2026.
