What an incredible week at the NACS show! 🙌 Together with 80 amazing volunteers, we recovered 120,380 pounds of food and drinks from 49 exhibitors, that's more than 100,000 meals for communities that need them most! When we work together, we can turn food waste into food security. Thank you to Tank Good News, NACS, and Breakthrough for making this possible! #FoodRecovery #FoodWaste #CommunityImpact #NACSShow #FeedingCommunities #Volunteers #FoodSecurity

As the federal government shutdown continues, an estimated 42 million Americans are losing access to SNAP and WIC benefits. To put this in perspective, approximately 50 billion pounds of food were purchased through SNAP last year alone. While some states are working to partially supplement these benefits, many simply cannot fill that gap. At least 25 states have already notified residents that their benefits will be cut. This means that significantly more people will turn to our partner emergency food providers for essential food support. The demand for donated food is expected to surge substantially in November and beyond. FoodRecovery.org is working hard to continue supporting communities in need by connecting nonprofit emergency food providers and food businesses. If you're able to support our work during this critical time, please consider making a donation at the link below! https://lnkd.in/gp6uUhpM For every $1 donated to FoodRecovery.org, 66 lbs of edible food (equivalent to 55 meals) is recovered and redistributed to people experiencing food insecurity. #FoodInsecurity #EndHunger #FoodRecovery #FoodRescue #ZeroHunger #FightHunger #FoodWaste #SNAPBenefits #FoodAssistance #FoodBank #EmergencyFood #CommunitySupport #FoodAccess #FoodJustice

So far, in less than 2 days, our Director of Operations: Northeast and California, Allie Wilson, picked up 3 filled boxes. The community of Asbury Park has always been close-knit, but seeing how everyone is coming together in the face of these SNAP cuts is moving. This is such a beautiful demonstration of community care. 💚 #AsburyPark #MonmouthCounty #FoodRecovery #FoodDrive #MutualAid #JerseyShore #CommunitySupport #FoodJustice #ShopLocal #food #foodrecovery #SNAP #newjersey

What's truly terrifying this Halloween? 🎃 While we hand out candy tonight, millions of Americans are facing devastating SNAP cuts, wondering where their next meal will come from, if it will come at all. Real families. Real hunger. Right now. FoodRecovery.org is fighting back. We connect food businesses with nonprofits to rescue perfectly good food before it hits the landfill and get it to the families who need it most. Every day, we turn would-be waste into meals for the communities most vulnerable to these cuts. But we can't do it alone. Your donation today helps us expand our network, feed more communities. Don't let this be just another scary statistic. Take action below. https://lnkd.in/gp6uUhpM #Hunger #Food #FightHungerNow #EndFoodInsecurity #SNAPCuts #Halloween
