We’re not here to dictate what´s on anyone's plate—we’re here to share the best available evidence on how to feed a growing population healthily and fairly within planetary boundaries. EAT-Lancet is a global framework, not a detailed recipe for Norway or any other country. The real work is local: co-creating a Norwegian roadmap that supports farmers through a fair transition, rewards the full public value they deliver, and makes healthy, sustainable choices easy and accessible for everyone. The Planetary Health Diet is flexible and culturally adaptable—with moderate amounts of meat, eggs and dairy. It also aligns with many traditional healthy diets around the word. The solutions are there, but we need to come together to make it happen. Longer tables, not higher walls. In the op-ed below by EATs senior science officer Ellen Cecilie Wright and me, we invite Bjørn Gimming, the head of the Norwegian Farmers Union Norges Bondelag, to sit down together and build a stronger, future-proof Norwegian food system.
