Recently, our own Owen Meier and team traveled to Seattle to ensure the seamless delivery and installation of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘎-21 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵—a decommissioned fighter jet transformed into a powerful work of art by renowned South African artist and filmmaker Ralph Ziman, now on display at The Museum of Flight. ✈️ From navigating complex domestic shipping to hands-on delivery and on-site installation, DTGruelle is proud to support sensitive, high-value projects like this one where history, culture, and craftsmanship intersect. Ralph Ziman and 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘎-21 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 uplifts artisan families through the Better Learning Brighter Futures (BLBF) Program, established by DTCare, to expand educational opportunities for their children and other youth in need. I am thrilled to share the global debut of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘎-21 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵—the final chapter in renowned South African artist Ralph Ziman’s '𝘞𝘦𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘴 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯' trilogy. This extraordinary installation, created in collaboration with artisans from Zimbabwe and South Africa, has transformed a MiG-21 decommissioned fighter jet into an unforgettable work of art using millions of glass beads. Over five years, Ralph Ziman and his team have collaborated between Los Angeles and South Africa to turn a powerful symbol of conflict into a message of healing, cultural appreciation, and hope for the future. For those of us privileged to play even a small supporting role, including my team at DT Gruelle Company that managed the challenging logistics, moving and installing the MiG-21 at The Museum of Flight in Seattle, this project stands as a testament to what can be achieved when we unite across borders. In Ziman’s words: "Take the most mass-produced supersonic fighter aircraft and to turn it from a machine of war into something that looks beautiful, changes the meaning of it." Beyond its awesome artistry, Ziman and 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘎-21 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 uplift artisan families through the Better Learning Brighter Futures (BLBF) Program, which DTCare initially established to expand educational opportunities for their children.
