Accessible through county referrals, our specialized programs are designed to meet young adults exactly where they are on their life journey. The Bill Wilson Center’s Youth Impact Partnership (YIP) team recently met with Santa Clara County Supervisor Betty Duong! Our YIP leaders, young adults with lived experience in housing insecurity, foster care, and the juvenile justice system, advocated for a critical cause: continuing state-level funding to address youth and young adult homelessness. This funding is a vital lifeline for young people in our community and across California. Thank you, Supervisor Betty Duong, for listening to our youth and standing with us in the fight to ensure every young person has a safe place to call home.

Real change happens when youth lead the conversation. Our Bill Wilson Center Youth Impact Partnership (YIP) team recently traveled to Sacramento to advocate for critical state budget allocations, ensuring California's vulnerable young people are prioritized this year. Meeting with Assembly and Senate staffers, our youth advocates championed two vital funding goals: securing sign-ons for Assemblymember Patrick Ahrens’ budget letter requesting $75M for CalOES Youth Engagement and Homeless Youth programs, and restoring HHAP Round 7 funding to $1B in alignment with Assemblymember Haney and Senator Arreguin. We extend our deepest gratitude to the offices that met with us and the legislators already championing these funds. With May being National Foster Care Month, protecting these life-saving resources is more critical than ever. Investing in our youth isn't just a budget item, it’s an investment in our collective future.
