Visit the Harrye B. Lyons Design Library

The Design Library is located on the second floor, in room 209, of Brooks Hall. If you enter Brooks Hall from the front door, go straight through the rotunda and gallery and you will be facing the Library. The Design Library is located in the middle of the back of the center section (Brooks Hall has two wings) of Brooks Hall. While D.H. Hill Jr. Library is closed, there are temporary signs in Brooks directing people to the Design Library.
Brooks Hall is the main building of the College of Design, which is located on main campus. It faces the traffic circle at the intersection of Pullen Road and Stinson Drive, across from Pullen Park.
Between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, visitors may enter the building from any of Brooks Hall’s doors. During other hours that the Library is open, visitors can enter through the second floor doors located in the breezeway at the north end of Brooks Hall. Please call (919) 515-2207 if you need assistance.
Elevator temporarily unavailable
Due to construction, as of May 29, 2025, the elevator for Brooks Hall is temporarily unavailable, and the Design Library is only accessible via stairs. This is expected to last for 3 or 4 weeks, with the elevator possibly becoming accessible again at the end of June 2025. If this is a problem for you, please call the Design Library and we will make arrangements for you as best we can. Contact Karen DeWitt if you have questions.
