Cambridge structural database system
Description
The Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) is the largest curated crystal structure database, containing over 1.3M accurate 3D structures with data from X-ray and neutron diffraction analyses. The database is used by researchers across the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and fine chemicals industries to predict and guide future discoveries.
Fully discoverable and accessible, the CSD is an essential trusted scientific resource giving big-data insights using powerful algorithms for molecular analysis. A CoreTrustSeal certified data repository.
How do I access this database?
CSD-Enterprise provides access to the Cambridge Structural Database's web based WebCSD and all CCDC application software. To access the web version or download CSD-Enterprise software, visit OIT Software Licensing.
NC State University has a campus-wide site license for the following:
- CSD-Enterprise which includes:
- CSD a suite of software tools and structural knowledge-bases for crystallographic and structural chemistry: powerful 2D/3D search, extensive geometry analysis tools, inter- and intramolecular interaction analysis, high impact graphics and API connectivity.
- Mercury see chemistry in 3D and generate high-definition, customized images, animations, and 3D models of molecules using the crystal structure visualization and analysis software, Mercury.
- CSD-Discovery provides in one place all the tools you need for discovering new molecules.
- CSD-Materials helps you explore new materials through analyzing intra- and intermolecular interactions within the lattice, helping you to understand your material's behaviors and refine its properties.
- WebCSD/Access Structures is the online portal to CSD (more information).
