As a covered entity under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, LADWP does not discriminate on the basis of disability and upon request will provide reasonable accommodation to ensure equal access to its programs, services or activities.
Employment
LADWP does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with all regulations promulgated by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under Title I of the ADA.
Effective Communication
LADWP will generally, upon request, provide auxiliary aids and services to persons with disabilities so they can participate in LADWP programs, services, and activities. These may include sign language interpreters, documents in Braille and large print, and other methods that make information and communications accessible to people with speech, hearing, or vision disabilities.
Modifications to Policies and Procedures
LADWP will make reasonable modifications to policies and procedures to ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to all programs, services, and activities.
LADWP will not place a surcharge on individuals with disabilities or groups of individuals with disabilities to cover the cost of providing auxiliary aids, services, or reasonable modifications to policies. The ADA does not require LADWP to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of a program or service, or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.

To ensure availability, you are advised to make your request at least five business days prior to the event to allow sufficient time to secure an interpreter or CART provider. To request Sign Language Interpreter, CART or other Assistive Listening Devices for a specific event, call or email the group hosting the specific event, as noted on the event flyer, invitation or posting. Grievance Procedure
