Russian missiles and drones rained down on the Donetsk cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk on Thursday, leaving several innocent residents killed and a thermal power plant in flames.
Vadym Liakh, Head of Sloviansk City Military Administration, wrote on @Kyivpost_official.
Three people were killed in the air strike, which also damaged apartment blocks, houses, a boiler house and several cars in the Lisnyi residential district, as well as Olimpiiska Street and 95 Bryhady Street.
In his evening address, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that one of the targets in the multiple attacks on Sloviansk included the city’s Thermal Power Plant (TPP).
“Just a few hours ago, there was a strike on the Sloviansk TPP – a strike by Russian bombs. Unfortunately, two people have been killed,” the president said.
(At the time of this writing, it was not immediately clear if those two deaths were in addition to, or included in, the three civilian deaths in Sloviansk reported earlier by Liakh.)
“This is pure terror,” Zelensky continued. “Normal people do not fight like this, and the world must respond appropriately to such Russian warfare.”
Later in the day, Russian forces also attacked the city of Kramatorsk in Donetsk, killing one person and injuring three others.
