Overnight on Oct. 25-26, Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down or jammed 90 Kremlin Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of drones in the north, south, and east of the country, but Russian weaponry still took its toll, with at least 34 casualties in Kyiv alone.
In Ukraine’s capital, thirty-one residents, including seven children, were wounded and three killed in Russia’s overnight attack on Kyiv.

The capital’s Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that seven people have been hospitalized, including two children.
Air Defense successes
According to Kyiv’s state-run news agency Ukrinform, the Air Force Command press service reported its successes on Telegram:
“As of 09:00 [on Oct. 26], Air Defense Forces shot down/jammed 90 enemy Shahed and Gerbera UAVs and other types of drones in the north, south, and east of the country. Five strike UAVs were recorded hitting four locations, and downed UAVs (debris) were reported falling in five locations.”
Kremlin forces attacked Ukraine with 101 strike UAVs from the Russian sectors of Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from occupied Crimea; about 60 of the UAVs were reportedly Shahed drones.
The air attack was partially repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Still, Russian attacks left 31 wounded, including 7 children, and 3 dead in Ukraine’s capital
Reporting on casualties in Kyiv, Ukrainska Pravda said that “damage was recorded in four locations in the Desnianskyi, Obolonskyi and Darnytskyi districts.” The independent news agency quoted the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMDA) as saying:

“The most difficult situation is in the Desnianskyi district, where a Shahed drone struck a nine-story residential building, destroying at least one floor between the levels.
“At least 26 people have been injured here, including five children. There were also three killed. Among them, the Russians killed a mother and her 19-year-old daughter,” according to the KMDA.
