* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 4 to 8
inches, mainly above 3000 feet. Possible slick roads and icy
conditions due to flash freezing. Winds gusting as high as 50 to
65 mph.
* WHERE...Northern and Central Oregon Cascades.
* WHEN...Until 4 PM PST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Precipitation is expected to start out as
rain before transitioning to snow after 4 AM. Temperatures are
expected to rapidly drop below freezing as a cold front passes
through overnight. This may result in flash freezing of water on
roadways at pass level.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Have a winter emergency driving kit readily available. Common items
to include: flashlight, batteries, blankets, a shovel, water,
non-perishable food items, tire chains, etc.
