Nebraska's ICE detention facility set to host detainees this week, Gov. Jim Pillen says
Gov. Jim Pillen said Nebraska's ICE detention facility should start receiving detainees this week.
"We've been through all of the details with the Department of Homeland Security and everything has been approved and processed," Pillen said.
Pillen said there are two phases. The first consists of hosting up to 200 detainees, which will be completed in the next two weeks. The second phase is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The governor said approval is still to be given for the cost of the facility, which is expected to start in the next couple of weeks.
According to the contract with ICE, the facility is expected to bring the state about $14 million every year in revenue. The contract runs through 2027.
