From Belgium to Dublin: Matt Healy has all it takes to shine for Ireland, says Stephen Bradley

Rovers boss believes Healy has all the attributes to make the step up to international football

Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley has tipped former Under-21 international Matt Healy to become a future star for Ireland.

Healy, 23, made the move to Rovers in January after Belgian side Francs Borains sold him for €70,000. The midfielder had featured 43 times for the second-tier Belgian outfit before returning home to link up with the Hoops.

Bradley has been impressed not just with Healy’s on-field performances, but also his professionalism and attitude in training.

“I believe he can make the step up to play for Ireland because he has all the attributes to do so,” Bradley said. “That said, he still needs to get better. That takes time; it is a process. But he has got all the tools to be a high-level player.”
