Having the best weapon in The Forge will help you slay enemies with ease. As you make your way from the first island to the second, you'll start to gather new ore types that can craft incredible gear. Knowing which ones to use for Ore Traits and how they'll impact your damage is a big part of the forging process. Continue reading to learn what the best weapon is, what traits you can get, what Runes to use, and more.

Making the Best Weapon in The Forge

The best weapon is a bit of a gamble between the Colossal Great Sword and quicker weapons with a high attack speed. Colossal Weapons are best known for dealing a significant amount of damage per hit. Some of the better recipes that use the rarest ore types in the Forgotten Kingdom will get you above 200 base damage.

But a high base damage isn't all there is to becoming the best weapon in The Forge. If you use an easier weapon to craft, like a Chaos Straight Sword, you may reach a higher DPS. This is also good to take advantage of when you're still struggling to get a lot of Mythic ores like Darkryte and Demonite.

Instead of using 30 to 50 ore to make a Colossal Weapon, you can spend 6 ore to make a powerful Straight Sword. With that said, there's never a guarantee that you'll get the weapon you're trying to forge. This is because there's always a chance of making more than one weapon type. For example, six ore will give you an 86% chance of making a Straight Sword, but also a 14% chance of making a Dagger.

In addition to this, if you want to get a Chaos Straight Sword, it's a 1 in 16 chance. This makes it the rarest Straight Sword type, even though the Colossal Great Sword has a 1 in 1 chance. Be sure to treat every recipe like it has a chance of being the one you need, since your Crafting Quality matters too. If you perform poorly in the minigame process, your weapon will suffer.

Beyond crafting powerful weapons that have a high base damage, you can also enhance them too. This will increase their damage and create Rune slots for attaching more traits to them. Be sure to check our guide on How to Get Runes for more info.

What Ore Should You Use

Creating the best weapon in The Forge, unsurprisingly, revolves around the ore that you use. This is because rarer ores will have a higher multiplier, which influences the damage of your weapon. For example, Darkryte has a 6.3x multiplier, but it also has a 1 in 6,655 chance of appearing. Due to how uncommon it is, you'll need to increase your luck for a chance of getting it.

Some methods of increasing your luck include using Luck Potions, Miner Shard runes, the Dedicated Player skill, certain pickaxes, and more. These will give you better loot drops and increase your chances of getting valuable ore.

Depending on what Ore Trait you're trying to get, you'll need to use specific ores that are typically rare. If you want to deal explosive damage, you'll need Magmaite. Or if you want to increase your overall damage, you can use Eye Ore. This is a bit easier to get, but it will decrease your health too.

At the end of the day, the best weapon and ore available to you will depend on how far in The Forge you are. If you're mining Volcanic Rocks in the Volcanic Depths, you'll likely want the best ore. But, if you're mining Rocks and Boulders, just use rarer ore types as you get them. And as previously mentioned, the weapon type you're trying to forge will impact how much ore you need.

As The Forge gets updates, new weapons will be added that may also change up the meta. This is why you can almost always rely on using ore with high multipliers to stay ahead.

Learning enemy attack patterns will also help you deal with tough enemies. Having a strong weapon is useful, but you can't always kill your enemies before they get a hit in. This is why it's useful if you can block right before they hit to avoid getting hurt.
