Interplay's Digital Mayhem Division today announced development of a totally new title, Rubu Tribes, an adventure game for the PlayStation 2 that stars a quirky bunch of characters and blends action, exploration and adventure elements. In development with Outrage Entertainment, Rubu Tribes is due in Q4 2001.

What's unique about Rubu Tribes is just about everything. Players take on the role of a Rubu tribe leader, which as built its entire village on the back of a giant beast named the Uut, and began a pilgrimage through several worlds, each with their own atypical ecosystems.

As tribal leader, you handle your own actions, direct the actions of the tribe members, manage the care of your giant Uut beast, and staying clear of new challenges, beasts and strange new obstacles. You not only face outside challenges, but internal tribe dilemmas, too.

"We're passionate about creating a truly rich experience with Rubu Tribe," said Interplay Entertainment Senior Producer Travis Williams. "Rubu Tribe is a game that successfully combines great characters and story with compelling gameplay."

IGNPS2 will make sure to deliver more goodness on Rubu Tribes at E3. To see more on Rubu Tribes, check out breaking story on the game An Outrageous New adventure.
