“I choose this color strand to make a stylized Christmas tree in my outdoor lighting against my white house. The “tree” is roughly 16 feet high so I get 6 strands. It looks quite lovely. The lights are woven into the strands so they all align nicely in this pattern. It looks like rope that lights up. When I’ve done the same with traditional lights, the lights stick out of the strand and flop all about and don’t line up well.
The AI did not work well at all in figuring out what pattern the lights were in. As a result, I’m not able to get cool patterned animations. HOWEVER, some animations look quite lovely and sparkle in unexpected ways. So I’ve no complaints. One problem the AI had is that the lights are in front of a picture window which reflects back into the picture. That means when the AI pulses the lights, it sees some lights twice and confuses that poor little robot. I should hope the AI works better on Christmas trees. Maybe they will give us a way to specify common Christmas lighting layouts.

“The lights themselves are rather bright, and the app allows an unbelievable amount of customizability. After having them for 6 months they suddenly died, which was no fault of the product. I did not notice that the power adapter was only ip44, and after a particularly strong storm it was sitting in a puddle for close to a day. I contacted Govee support through the app trying to purchase a replacement adapter, and after sending them pictures of the adapter not working (I had another adapter from another set to test), they sent an entire new set of lights in less than a week at no charge. “These are the best Christmas trees lights ever. I bought a 9′ Christmas tree from King of Christmas and was a little concerned that I didn’t purchase the pre-lit version. I purchased these lights because I have the TV backlight and I have experience with their app so I had some idea of how they should work. They come in various lengths and I bought the 99′ version. I wasn’t sure that was enough so I did some research and bought another 99′ strand. These lights DO NOT physically connect. I knew this but again, I purchased lights from govee before so I had an idea of how they should work, and work they did. With the app you are able to group the sets together. I have no idea how exactly it knows where the bottom of the tree and the top of the tree is, where the one set begins and the other one ends, but it does, and it does it well. They are extremely easy string up because the LEDs are inline, they are easy to put away because they roll up neatly in the spool. With the app you can individually color each light, use preset scenes, have the lights dance with music, the options are almost limitless. I don’t write too many reviews on Amazon, but I’m so impressed with them that I’m going to add another 99′ strand for next year. Quality product, phenomenal price when on sale (actually would pay full price and wouldn’t feel as if I paid too much the product is that good) you can mix and match strand sizes and they coordinate seamlessly.
