Fox’s broadcast of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 11-inning victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in game seven of the World Series averaged 25.45 million viewers in preliminary Nielsen ratings. The 25.98 million viewers for the game are the most for any World Series game (or any other Major League Baseball telecast) since game seven of the 2017 series brought in 28.24 million people. Tracking Wicked
Leading market research firm NRG has Universal’s female-fueled Wicked: For Good debuting to $115 million domestically, but also provides a range suggesting it could come in closer to $120 million, according to sources with access to the data. Those insiders say it could even crack $120 million at the Thanksgiving box office, based on the level of interest and awareness. Full story.

	The most-viewed series and movies of the week
↑ Monster: The Ed Gein Story led Nielsen’s rankings, but it bowed a little behind the 1.72 billion minutes for the Menendez brothers-focused second season in 2024.
↑ Prime Video’s Play Dirty, starring Mark Wahlberg, led the movie rankings with 788 million viewing minutes. It ended a three-week run in the No. 1 spot for KPop Demon Hunters.
↑ Netflix’s Wayward grew by 54 percent over its premiere week to 1.3 billion minutes of viewing. It was the only other title to clear the billion-minute threshold for the week.
↑ The 817 million minutes of viewing for NCIS (across three platforms) were the most for the show since June, and Law & Order (768 million) grew by 19 percent week to week.

NBA’s New TV Era Tips Off
The NBA season began Oct. 21 with two new media partners in NBC and Prime Video alongside incumbent broadcaster ESPN, and the first week of primetime games posted strong results. NBC’s tipoff doubleheader averaged 5.6 million viewers (including streaming on Peacock), a 15-year high for the season opener. ESPN’s four games over the next two nights averaged 2.2 million, up 60 percent year to year, while Prime Video drew 1.25 million for its inaugural NBA doubleheader on Oct. 24, topping ESPN’s average from the first Friday of last season. — Updated Oct. 29
