I ordered this book as soon as I found out about it. When I picked it up from my mailbox, I started reading it in my car on the way to the mall. The first page hooked me. We have some very long red lights in my area, you could sit for up to three minutes waiting for the light to turn green. At each light, I read two or three pages. By the time I got back home, I had read several chapters. I almost finished it the same day but had other things to do. I did finish it the next morning and all I can say is WOW. It was so well-written that I could hear Hattie McDaniel in my head telling her story to me. I told several folks about it and each one purchased a copy and loved it. I am so glad someone thought Hattie McDaniel was important enough to write about! I have to say that I was appalled when I read how she was treated by Hollywood on Oscar night and horrified that she couldn't even attend the premiere! I hope SOMEONE (Oprah, Tyler Perry y'all listening...) will make a movie about Hattie.
Someone thought Wendy Williams was important enough for a movie to made about her life... ]]>
