I saw the preview to it a couple of weeks ago. I love Ewan McGregor. I guess I'll have to read the book. Poor Nujood may get postponed yet another year...

A fact that is not often mentioned is that the Jews are the indigenous people of Yemen. Yemen has the second oldest society of Jews - Israel being the first.

I lived in Yemen for 3 years in the 90s, but have only read Motoring With Mohammed: Journeys to Yemen and the Red Sea by Eric Hansen and Yemen Yemen:Travels In Dictionary Land by Tim Mackintosh-Smith
What was interesting is Eric Hanson mentions Tim Mackintosh-Smith in his book, which was written a few years later.

Kenneth Cline | 8 comments Tracking the Queen of Sheba: A Travel Memoir of YemenKenneth Cline
Hi all Yemen fans,
In 1983-84, I had the privilege of traveling to the Middle East on a journalism fellowship. Of the three countries I visited -- Egypt, Yemen and Turkey -- Yemen was by far the most interesting. One of my adventures in Yemen involved joining an archaeological expedition probing the history of the ancient civilization of Saba, which was almost certainly Biblical Sheba. My account of this expedition, Tracking the Queen of Sheba, is today, Jan. 4, available for a free download on Amazon. In addition to containing lots of material on ancient Saba and the Queen of Sheba story, the book sheds some light on life in modern Yemen. I welcome your comments, pro or con. Thanks!
