This is a beautiful almost love at first sight story of workaholic Seth Braden and his virtual assistant, Eleanor Taylor Nunnelly. Seth has always assumed that his VA, Taylor, is a man, so when he sends him on a trip to his villa to say thank you for all he has done, Seth decides to show up unexpectedly to finally meet that man he considers a friend. When he shows up at the villa, there is a beautiful woman in the kitchen, who introduces herself as Eleanor, Taylor's sister. When Eleanor flees the villa because she feels herself getting too close to Seth, she accidentally leaves her sketchbook behind. Seth decides to deliver the sketchbook in person, and Ellie confesses that she is really Taylor, Seth is so angry he leaves Ellie who dissolves into tears. He is so angry, Taylor fears that not only will she never see Seth again, but she will lose her job, her only source of income. With no word from Seth, Taylor decides to submit her resignation and this spurs Seth into action, and thus begins the journey to their HEA.
This slow burn, VA/client relationship is fun, with witty banter and easy conversation that feels effortless. This transfers over to their actual relationship and makes for an effortless few days on the island. The smolder and heat of their physical relationship adds another layer to this story and with the loving family dynamics, you just know there is a lot of love going around. Seth's bond with Ellie's father, encouraging him and helping him with his health and Ellie's bond with Seth's mother, who fills a void in her heart are everything you could wish for. This was such a great story. Well written, characters you can root for and love, and a wonderful HEA to warm your heart.
