Are there any graphic sex scenes in this book? (Choosing an audiobook for a car ride with a group of people and would make some uncomfortable)

Christina There is quite a bit of graphic violence and racial cruelty that might not suit all listeners.

has anyone done a "murmur" count? i feel like in a book this thicc, i shouldn't have zero'd in on something like that, but EVERY. SINGLE. CHARACTER. murmurs when they speak.

It's sort of the Xmen, Harry Potter and the Fantastic 4, set in Victorian England and with kids (and a few adults) as the heroes. Charlie as a teenager is I think the oldest of the lot of kids. (less)

I've recently started reading the book and though the story does seems interesting and something I may enjoy, I'm really put off by the regular religious reference to "God" or "Jesus" etc. Does this carry on the whole book or does it stop as the story progresses? Many thanks for your answers
