ReplyDecember 2, 2025 at 8:54 pm #1206384698As far as I can tell, the only firm requirement for nominees that they have a budget cap of $30 million. With that in mind, here’s few movies I think could do well:
-The Ballad of Wallis Island
Reply
-The Chronology of Water
-Die, My Love
-If I Had Legs I’d Kick You
-The Mastermind
-Pillion
-Sorry, Baby
-The Testament of Ann Lee
-Train Dreams

I think a lot of the Oscar contenders have been underperforming and this one deserves at the very least to be in the conversation to become a nomination contender in Picture, Screenplay, Actress & Supporting Actress.
ReplyFebruary 3, 2026 at 4:45 pm #1206440265Just submitted my ballot a few minutes ago. I was cutting it pretty close to the 5:00 PST voting deadline but I had one last movie to squeeze in this afternoon: Roofman.
Overall I felt like this was a VERY strong batch of nominees. I had tough choices to make in several categories which never happens.
I only voted in the film categories and here’s what I went with:
1. Feature: Twinless
2. First Feature: Lurker
3. Director: Mary Bronstein- If I Had Legs I’d Kick You
4. Screenplay: Twinless
5. First Screenplay: Lurker
6. Lead Performance: Dylan O’Brien- Twinless
7. Supporting Performance: Jane Levy- A Little Prayer
8. Breakthrough Performance: Kayo Martin- The Plague
9. Cinematography: Dust Bunny
10. Editing: Splitsville
11. International Feature: A Poet
12. Documentary: I abstain. I ran out of time and didn’t get around to watching them.As always I look forward to reading what my fellow voters chose.
