Join us for Engage Expos!

Families will learn about engage opportunities at their home campus and explore K–4 academy options for the upcoming school year.

Feb. 3 & 9:  K-4th Grade Elementary Expo

Last Name A–M: 5:30 – 7:00 PM

Last Name N–Z: 7:00 – 8:30 PM

Feb. 17: 5th-8th Secondary Expo

All Students: 5:30 – 7:30 PM

In 2025-2026, Forney ISD expanded its choice academies to offer more opportunities for students to explore their interests and passions. Academies are designed to ignite student engagement, fostering personal growth and academic success. By tailoring academies around specific areas of interest, we’re giving students the chance to dive deep into what excites them, while preparing them for a successful high school experience and beyond. This innovative approach helps students stay motivated and on track for their future.

Academies are designed for choice and parents must apply for their student(s) to attend. Unlike our traditional neighborhood campuses, bus transportation is not provided for students in these programs.

Academies follow the same dress code and student code of conduct as the other FISD campuses.

We are excited to share that in the Fall of 2026 more Academy options will extend to grades K-8.

Applying to the Academies

Academy Applications open on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 3PM and close on February 20, 2026 at 11:59PM. Acceptance into the Forney ISD Academy is a qualification process. Applications will be evaluated based on criteria (academics, attendance, and behavior) as well as assessment performance rather than strictly time of application submission.

how to apply (tutorial video)

Completing the Form in Avela:

When logging into Avela to complete an Academy Application, do not click ‘Start a New Form’. Your form will already be in progress due to the sync with Skyward. You can find the form on the main screen once logged in, for each student.  Simply resume the form progress for students interested in the Academy Application, then submit.

Trouble Logging into Avela:

We recommend parents use the phone number that is connected to Family 1 in Skyward. It will text a code to that number to authenticate and log into Avela. If you do not know what email or phone number that would be, you can call your home campus PEIMS clerk for that information.
