
Todd Boss has written about pickleball for Forbes since January 2023. Mr. Boss first began playing Pickleball in 2019, and like millions of Americans was immediately taken with the sport. He plays competitively at the 4.5 level despite what his DUPR says. He designed and maintains the points system calculation algorithm that the Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP) tour uses to rank its players. He created reporting solutions for the Professional Pickleball Association to generate player stats used during TV broadcasts. He wrote a Pickleball-related case study for a graduate-level textbook titled Sports Finance 2nd Edition. He was a speaker at the 2024 World Pickleball Conference discussing the current state of Pickleball media. Outside of Pickleball, he remains active in the racquetball community as a former member of the USA Racquetball Board of Directors. He works professionally as a Database Consultant when not writing about the sport. He was raised in the Washington DC area, attended James Madison University, and currently resides in Richmond, VA.
